Got a conference in Corpus next week and will fly down on Monday evening. I have a golf tournament Tuesday, but would skip it if I could find a good bone or snook fishing trip to take. I have never done this, but it looks like ton's of fun. Bass fishing inland is my main gig. I have one or two other guys who may be interested as well and would like guide suggestions. I know this is short notice, but just found out I was going.

Any help is appreciated.

There are no bone and very few snook in the Corpus area. There aren't any snook guides. Snook will show up at the jetties later in the summer.
hope this helps

That is my limited knowledge of saltwater. I found a guide for RedFish which also interest me. Looks like fun.

The snook population has boomed over the past few years. I think u would be suprised at the number of snook that are caught out of Port A nowdays. I have seen snook caught on almost every trip I have taken to Port A in the last two years. And I believe there is a guy that even guides for snook. He doesnt do it often because most people want to catch reds. Look Up Captain Ernest Cisneros, He can put u on snook and reds. I dont have a doubt that u can catch snook in port A. And yes, U can catch them often later in summer, even when not targeting them. Cisneros # is 956-266-6454. His website is tightlinescharters.com. Good luck and have a great time..

Been checking into the Saltwater guys. Man there guide trips are definetly more than the inland guides are. Amazing.

Yep. Much more wear and tear on tackle, boats, motors, trailers, etc. Not to mention burning more fuel than the average inland guide.

If you really want to target snook, the most viable fishery in the state is located down at South Padre Island/Port Isabel. There are guides down there who target them--mostly in the Brownsvile Ship Channel.

But you outta have fun chasing reds and trout with a bay guide in the Corpus area. You'll probably get hooked and may never want to fish for those big green ugly fish ever again. LOL

Good luck.
