O.K. drywallers, I need some help. I have had my garage tape and bedded twice and an orange peel sprayed on it by some so called experts, and after awhile it starts comming down in big sections. Because it is so humid I suspect. Should I use a primer? Would that help my problem. Or do you guys have any ideas?

If is peeling the paper off the sheet rock, you need to install some roof vents in your attic. Make sure they used a quality sheet rock also. There was some coming in from China or Japan that had issues.
If it is just the plaster (orange peel) thats coming off, then they didn't apply it correctly.

Tell me how many days it took them to do the job. If it wasnt at least 3, then you wasted your money. Sounds like they didnt let it dry between coats.

primer won't help, the mud didnt stick. orange peel should not peel ever. if its the paper and texture you have too much moisture, put a vent at each end of the ceiling going thru the roof to outside air. you need some circulation.

The drywall mud acts as the adhesive for the paper tape and if the installer wipes down the tape to flat taking all the mud out it wont stick and starts to fall down in long strips. This is more likely to happen in humid locations.
And the vent thing too...

you may want to replace it with something other than sheetrock. Hardyplank maybe or some type of product you can just prime and paint. Sheetrock is not good to install where it can be exposed to outside air for extended periods.

Thanks guy's, it is exposed to the outside elements for a long period of time and I do have the vents already. Think we have decided to put up bead board and paint it.
