4.5" LFT Live Majic Shad, watermelon-red flk/pearl belly on a weighted swimbait hook or carolina rig.

I think a jig is a good alternative. There are many companies that make a color combination that has the same colors as a bream.

Bought a Strike King 1.5 Square Bill at Academy for about $5.50. Looks just like a bluegil.

Lots of options out there. Senkos, jigs, flukes, crankbaits, topwater, etc. Just go to your local tackle shop and look. If I had to pick one this time of year it would be a watermelon/red fluke. Dip the tail as mentioned and hang on! You might take more than $10 if your like me.

I know it's the current "it" bait right now, but the KVD 1.5 squarebill in bluegill really does catch em. The bandit colors river bream and sun perch have worked for me too. Zoom Superflukes -- got all different types of options there, including a color called bluegill. I have one Lateral Perch that I'm not ready to give up on until after the perch spawn kicks into high gear the next month or so, but I will say that I'm starting to have doubts that it's gonna be one that really works for me personally. I have some of these on backorder from Tackle Warehouse. I'll let you know how they work if they ever get here. Big Bite Warmouth
