Sharks in the Packery

This past week large numbers of small blacktip sharks (2-3 ft) were seen and caught in the mouth of the packery channel inbetween the bridge and the jetties. This will be fun to think about the next time I step into a deep hole when wading. What bothers me is that few other offshore species have been coming in through the channel into our bays. Every body kept talking about how the channel would improve fishing, water color, and bring fish like tarpon, snook, and cravelle in. However, I have seen none of this happen. I fish several days a week, two times a day, and have yet to encounter a school of feeding cravelle, seen a tarpon in the shallows, or hooked up with a snook. Furthermore, the Trout fishing and water clarity seem to be worse than last year. I refuse to even try and fish the Laguna shores area right now because the water is so nasty. Where are all the improvements that I heard about. Or, were they just wishfull thinking.

o yea ... fish the shallow water that is closer to the bank... there should be fish right were the water gets a little shallower
