Thru the years- I have caught A few Big Reds while Down rigging.
My son saw the old pics and wanted to give it a try.
I'm going to take him out in a few weeks but havn't done any Redfishing this year. In years past , I would Down rig a Tony Ascetta gold or Silver spoon with a yellow bucktail. I would catch both Hybrids and Reds.
Any feedback on recent activity is greatly appreciated.
I want to see his face as a Big Red strips drag and wears his arms out !

I don't have any reports Rio.....I've been itching to get out there, but run into the same problem every year at this time. Too much wind for the canoe. I was going to go today or tomorrow, but couldn't get across the lake with 20mph winds. So I'll see if I can go next week.

We still use the same technique and the same spoons. Try at the crappie wall early and go to down rigging a little bit later in the morning. Use a ballon rig at the wall and fresh shad.
