Hi! just wanted to ask what is the minimum lenght of rod for trolling or bottom fishing, is 6" ok? 'coz I'm not tall I'm not into saltwater fishing but I'm thinking of trying it, thank you

Hey Shadow: You might want one longer than 6" inches...6'ft would be about right for a boat rod.

_You need enough rod lenght to be able to lean back away from the railing to apply leverage.With the rod bent (Big fish on) it still has to be long enough to clear the side of the boat/railing... Buddy!

Hey bazz!!! I was laughing myself out while reading your reply, it was a typo and I guess your right that I should need a longer rod than 6" inches LOL you got me there Sir!

unless you go offshore, trolling in saltwater is not much of an option. as for a good pier/bottom rig, an 8 foot browning rig w/ a shimano spinning reel is a good choice.
