Today, I had an awesome morning throwing topwaters near the yarbrough pass area. Was using a chartrusse super spook Jr. in the shallows. Must have caught about 100 trout. At one time I counted fish on 11 consecutive casts. It was crazy. The fish were not big, 13-20 inches, but is was a blast. After the topwater bite, I switched to a limetruse bass asassin. Picked up quite a few more on this lure, but nothing like the topwater action. At times, I could count about 5 blowups on a single retrieve. Also saw good numbers of large reds tailing in the shallows. They were not to interested in the spook, and I was after trout, so I left them alone. Maybee I made the wrong choice but have little regrete. P.S. the water is still a little murky down here due to runoff but seems to be clearing up.
