The big girls are showing up again and the lake is awesome right now! Best five were 35 lbs. Biggest pictured here - just over 10!!

Caught them shallow next to deep water in post spawn areas on Santone jigs and Santone spinnerbaits (www.santonelures.com).

Best rod on the market in my opinion! I have not had one single problem with any of mine. Can't say that for the other top end rods on the market.

To the best of my knowledge of the lake, that covers at least 5000 acres....LOL
Just kidding. Very nice catch

Likewise not a single problem with the St. Croix rods! I really like the Tournament Edition of the rods. They are not the most expensive in their lineup, but the differences, when looking at spending another $80-$100 on the Extreme Series, is minimal. The Avid series is a great quality rod for even a bit less than the Tournament edition, but there are some significant differences that get me to move up to the Tournament Edition.

As for the areas I was fishing...

Mostly north shore and four fingers. More specifically, areas where there was a ledge type situation with a small flat that had a sharper drop off of it outside of the spawning pockets. Not just a steep bank. You need that underwater ledge! The bass seem to want that sharp edge. They are really focused on the shad right now so I am finding the fish related to the rocky areas where those shad are spawning. I have been catching more and more each day off of the humps and pond dams in these areas which says they are finally making their push into the summer areas.

Hope that helps a bit more!!

Bassin Dave

Well I can tell you where not to go: Greyhound point, west of greyhound point, mason point and the area between mason & greyhound. Tried those areas because of the wind and it was not good, no grass at all that way.
