I have heard that the Reds should be running the CC ship channel in Port A about now.Anyone heard anything ? Is cut mullet about the best bait to use ? Would you fish the deep water or more towards the bank ?
Anything else bitting ?

cut mullet would definatly get you into a oversized red. use small finger mullet, or smaller cut chunks for slot reds. fish them on the bottom and next to the cuts in the jetty. you might lose some tackle but it would be worth it.

I hope this reply is not to late but I was down there three weeks ago and fished off the south jetty with some pretty good results using mullet. My biggest was 29" but I saw several people drag in fish over 40" I was fishing on the bottom trying to throw out in the channel past the rocks. Take plenty of tackle because I lost my share. Good luck there out there.
