Hey guys, this is going to be my first summer to be really bassin a lot! Just wanted to see if I could get some tips for summer, I really do not have a lot of summer fishing experience for bass. What lures do you guys not use anymore in the summer that you did the rest of the year and what are some new ones you throw in for summer other than top water stuff?? What changes about how you target the fish?? Still shallow timber and grass or docks or what?

Thanks guys anything will help!!

Summer I think for the most part will push alot of fish deeper due to them finding a more stable water temperature deeper down. Shade and cover can also hold some fish. Id say fish the same areas you do all year, but maybe find the break lines or ledges out away from the banks.

I dont know about the rest, but jsut being out there in the heat plays a bigger factor with my confidence, than what the fish are probably doing.

Love fishing summertime especially at Lake Fork. Get a guide in July and go after some deep water fish. There are guides who post on here that are excellent deep water fishermen. Most will even do a split trip to avoid the heat if you need them to.

Look for schooling fish late in the evening on LOP you can have a ball from about 5 till dark. DD22 depending on depth.
