Cliff Spindle is an awesome guide/teacher. If you are in North Texas you need to call him period.

I like all our regular guides who post in here, but can't argue with Cliff Spindle price and service bar none.

If rate isn't a factor, I recommend you hire a guide who knows the lake in which you would like to learn or normally fish (assuming you don't already know the lake well; that's why you are looking to hire a guide). And most of our well know guides in here know their lake(s) well with full of helpful tips.
If rate is a serious factor, then you can't overlook Cliff anyway who knows Texoma and Ray Roberts well...

Well, then maybe you can't afford a guide in the 1st place. A furnished boat, rods, bait/tackle and the work that goes into putting a customer on fish aint cheap. Let's do the math. $40,000 for a truck, $30,000 for a boat, $2,000 a year for Insurance, daily expenses of at least $100 for fuel and bait/minnows............................................................................And the list goes on. Go make your own crappie hole and see how much work it is!

Peace out. This one got to me, sorry for the rant.

Dave

sorry for the rant? lol, sounds like you fell out of the wrong side of the boat this morning, it is not uncommon in today's economy to look for discounts, best prices, best values.

i have never been on a guided trip, but if i where to, i think i would try cliff spindle, i see him on ray roberts all the time and have seen his prices, he runs a special every now and then also, he guides on roberts and texoma.

Hello, I am no guide but since you live in Joshua.
1. Yall live in Joshua.
2. I fish Benbrook.
3. It can be a hard lake at times, which in turn will make you appreciate some things.
4. If you don't mind fishing with poor folks( meaning I only have basic equiptment, rods, fishfinders, ect
5.Price is FREE
Hey I am sure their are good guides probably some of the best in this section from what I hear and see, just thought it would be nice to offer not trying to stop any one from making a living if anyone feels this way my sincere apologies.

Well you may be right as far as not being able to afford a guide but it is worth a try. Just because I inquired about lower than the standard price does not mean I think prices are too high. No need for a layout of expenses. If it does not work out then that is fine too. At least I have some input on good guides for future reference.

Thanks, will probably take you up on that one. We have our own equipment and also boat with fishfinder nothing fancy but we are poor folk too. So we could also go in my boat.

I bet you can find someone to take you for whatever your wanting to pay. There are lots of p/t guides out there that will take you out for much less than the busy full time guides, but you might consider this.
A full time guide will likely have commercial insurance incase someone gets hurt. Regular boat insurance will not cover you on a guide trip if you get hurt. Second, your good guide will be more experienced and know the lake and fish patterns much better than the cut rate guide. I hear stories about bad guides all the time and it's almost always about a guide I've never heard of. The good guides have a reputaton and thats why there busy and charge the rates they do. I wish you luck and hope you reconsider hiring a real professional that makes his living fishing.
