Does anyone know someone in or around Fort Worth that can build an aluminum bracket and/or mount a foot pedal trolling motor to an aluminum boat?
2009 Triton 1860
It is currently bolted to the bow for the second time and is striping the screws out again. Any help is appreciated.

post a picture of where it is mounted now and some of us may be able to give you some ideas how to fix it.

Is it screwed directly to the metal with SCREWS or BOLTS and NUTS? If its screws your gonna have to switch to bolts and nuts, they ain't meant to be held in place by plain screws. On the two aluminum boats I had there was a piece of marine plywood underneath the front part of the deck to help support a tm.

There are both. I saw atleast 1 lag screw/bolt and atleast 2 bolts and nuts.
I had a boat almost identical to this one several years ago and the guy before me had a bracket fabricated and welded to the bow. It worked great but I cannot picture what it looked like and I do not know where he got it done.

first the easy part, you can use #14 SS screws to screw the foot control to the deck, do them by hand with a 1/8" pilot hole so you don't strip them.
the motor will need the rubber booty bolts (what I call them) done away with. get some 2 1/2" #12 or 14 SS machine screws (philips head). now the tricky part, make a nut holder long enough to go thru the glove box and up to the front, aluminum strap works best, drill a 3/8 or 1/2 inch hole in it, take the nuts (plain nuts n lock washers) and put one centered over the hole in the strap with a lock washer on top, electric tape the two (keep them aligned) with no more than 2 wraps of tape wrapped tight and an X cut in the hole. bend and form the strap to get the nut and washer under the hole. this is where some help is good, with everything lined up carefully get the screw started and try not to force it with some luck it will pull up to the underside where you can tighten with a cordless drill. get them all started before you tighten. this is what I have done numerous times and its a pain but will work with some patience. I have never figured out why they won't give us some access panels to mount trolling motors, its always a major pain in the a(^

Thanks for all the help Hopalong and everyone else. I finally got a chance to work on it yesterday and got everything completed with machine screws, lock washers and nuts. I was able to reach my long arms all the way to the bolt with the nuts by going through the glove box. Took it to the lake and it seems like it shouldn't give me any problems but we will see as time goes on. Thanks again for everyone's feedback.
