Well, the new year is almost here and I am getting ready for the first trip to the coast, dust off the old rods, oil up the reels, and hope the boat starts. Need some info on where to go in Redfish Bay and the outside of Traylor Island, and maybe South Bay. Its my home waters but been away awhile, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Killer, I like to stay at the Laguna Reef or the Kontiki Beach resort. I think they both have websites that you can find at www.rockport-fulton.org I'm sorry I can't help you on where to fish because I just got my boat a few months ago and haven't yet made it down there with it.

Saltwater...Run over to the Arlington Convention Center and look up Capt. Jerry Lindsey (from Rockport) who is manning a booth there. I'm sure he can be of assistance and seems like a super guy. He'll be there thru Sunday, I think. If you miss him there, you can call him at 866/993-3131 (Toll free) or look him up on his website: www.hook-line.net. I met and talked with him yesterday and was impressed. Also plan to go down and use his services for a couple of days on redfish and trout. Good luck...........

Well got nil in the bay, water is as low as I have ever seen it before, caught a few rat reds in the canals of my neighbors bait light at night but nothing impressive, thanks for the advice on who to talk to. Boat ran great, only probably was tide was so low had to work at it to get it off the lift. As far as driving down there, take 35 south just past waco to the moody exit, higway 7, then take 7 east to 77 south, stay on 77 south all the way around victoria on the loop, exit the tivoli exit and follow the signs, once in tivvoli, take highway 35 south right into rockprt, do not stop and it takes about 5.5-6 hours. Well heading back in a week for some business but gonna squezze in a little fishing time.

Saltwater Killer,
With those killer low tides we are having, I have been targeting the troughts leaving the flats into the ICW and have done very well on my last 3 trips.
Try fishing between Con Brown harbor and city by the sea, we have put 21 keeper reds in the baot in the last 3 trips.
Good Luck!
