I have had my Elite 5 DSI for about a month and love it but I'm having problems seeing the screen in bright sunlight. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.

I've only had my Elite 5 DSI color unit for a couple of weeks. I found if I switch to a white background I can see it much better in the sunlight. When I looked at the monochrome ELite 5 DSI in the store I couldn't see it under the florescent lights.

Have the back light on full still having the same problem. Changed the back light to white and it looks like that may do the trick. Have a Media Tournament on Sam Rayburn tommorrow will report back on how it works.

can you reposition the unit ?i/e tilt/asimuth angle?
I put a hd in the nice dashboard cut-out and couldnt see it at certain sun angles.
put it on a gimble ..now is perfect all day

you guys have any actual use pics from the di units? snap some with phone maybe and post, im wanting to get one, but the one i looked at in display mode at academy didnt seem to be all that much better than 2d sonar. id like to see some actual on the water pics before i drop the cash.

I switched to white background and fished Sat.,was able to see the screen but seemed like it was just like a color graph not the same as the sepia color. I know it's the mounting on the front deck for my trolling motor and me standing looking down at it fom about 5 1/2 foot up. Will continue to experiment to try to get it more visible.
