The guys and I are heading down there in early June. We may or may not have access to a boat. frown Any ideas on what the bank fishing will be like by then? Are there any good bank spots to speak of? Considering the current water levels, is there a crappie house or fishing pier that's not over dry land?

thanks
cheers

Whole lake is pretty good for channels. Give me a shout when you get into town. I will point you in right direction.

The West side of Lofer's Bend has good bank fishing. I bet the State Park does too, good access to deep water.

Some of the guys don't have a fishing license.
I KNOW, RIGHT!? shocked

Is it true that bank fishing in the SP is legal without one?

TPWD says:

"Texas Parks & Wildlife has waived the normal fishing license and stamp requirements for anyone fishing inside the property boundary of a Texas state park. Once you've paid the park entrance fees, no one needs a fishing license or stamp, whether freshwater or saltwater, adult or child, as long as they're inside the state park. However, bag limits, length limits, and other regulations will still apply, and be enforced.

This applies to fishing from the bank, a pier, river or creek fishing, and fishing from a boat, if the water body is fully contained within the state park boundary."
