Well guy's I am making my third annual trip to Fork next week. I understand that the lake is around 5 feet low. Are there any special precautions that need to be taken. I have the boatlanes.com chip so I should be able to stay in the lanes. With the lake being low is it safe to run all of the marked boat lanes? Are there any areas that I need to be especially careful?

Common sense..and you will be fine..heck I think it easier to navigate ..seems 90%+ of stumps showing..most were eroded from the water line at normal or near normal level..Come on down ..worry about other things..like what to throw first..heck I kinda like it..If you fish around bank its easy to use trolling motor..you see 95% of stumps..and you dont hit them and scare fish. Boat lanes are fine..

Hey Wingem, which side of four? I thought it was on the three side. I'd prefer full or 6 feet low myself.

Winds/baitfish, low water/concentrated schools, little grass/stacked in on the timber. ...sounds awful..

Sounds like just my kind of place this time. High winds, low water, minimal grass. That's the way Toledo Bend has been all year. You should have seen the Marshal's faces when they got out of the boats from the Elite's tournament a few weeks ago. They got beat to death in the 5 footers.
All kidding aside, I just installed a brand new lower unit on my 250 Pro XS and have not even put it in the water yet. Just don't want to knock it off at Fork next week.
