just heard on radio in odessa that lake spence is at 2 % and has a month of water in it and when it dries up that will pull more water out of ivie. they said ivie would be dry in december of next year. i guess that assumes it never rains again though...

Ironic that you heard that from an Odessa radio station when Midland/Odessa hasn't gotten near as serious about water use restrictions than other communities that use the same water sources. Here's an interesting article that sheds light on this very issue... Water concerns

Heard this on the news last night. I thought my wife would celebrate Ivie drying up since I "spend too much time there", but she actually was sad for me since I love fishing so much. I told her not to worry, because Alan Henry and Amistad are great second and third choices!

I have a pair of Maui Jims in front of the pump station. Please give me a shout when you find them, the water was like 100 foot deep. Gold frame with black lenses, thanks, the Toad.

Ivie has two major rivers and a very large creek running into it... the thought that it will completely dry up, yeeaaaahhhhh, that is not likely. Everybody needs to remmeber that the concho the colorado and elm creek all came together there naturally before we went and built a dam to make a lake.

Now get so low that you can't get a boat in and all the pump stations are suck'n air? much more likely. How the heck is spence drying up going to take water from ivie??? it hasn't run over the spillway in years?

I'm assuming that means with Spence dried up, they will pull more from Ivie.

Yeah boomboom just went and read that article and realized that. Guys if you actually read what the article ment not just what words were used you'll see that when they said "dried up" they mean closed for pumping. SO the fish will still have a little breathing room.
