Well heres a good story for everyone to have a good laugh at.........

I know we did, as we were on the way home. Anyway... neither bigfishtx nor I have ever fished grapevine. We fished Tuesday evening to determine if it were worth our while to jump in on Wednesdays. After a productive evening of fishing we decided, heck why not!

So now it's wednesday and we are one of only 7 teams. We head out. we hit a spot that we had some nice success on the evening prior and while it provided some bites we failed to boat any fish. Off to our last spot. Within a few minutes boom.. boated a nice fish... throw him in the live well... couple of more minutes boom another fish boated... measure him.... dang 13 15/16"... "did you flip him over"... "yep"... "no help" ok... back in the water he goes... we continued to do this several times.... We threw back keeper after keeper, just short of 14".... I'm just thankful the one fish we kept was an over and not in the slot! That would have been worse... moral of the story is, read the rules prior to joining the touranament and know the lake guidlines... you might not throw back all your keepers

When we pulled up to the weigh in, Dstrong asked the guys next to us if they wore 'em out, they said they had a few, Dstrong said we had one keeper and a bunch of "unders". I'm sure they were wondering wth.

I'm watching the team pull out a 5 lber and put it in the bag for big fish weigh. I then see him add a fish to the bag. I thought, "dang that sure looked short of 14". He then put another one in, and I thought, "boy there must be a brother/sister in law connection here". Then the 3rd one went in and I thought, this is BS and nearly stood up to say something. The last fish was about the size of a swim bait I like to throw.

We were leaving and I told Dstrong, "that's the definition of getting skint up". We only had 1 fish and there were lots of bags. He then said, "I wonder why she asked if my fish was over". It took a few minutes, but we figured it out.

Congrats to the winners, and I feel pretty confident we'll do better next week...haha.

You live and learn! We "learnt" it pretty good! Just glad is wasn't on a night where there are 30 teams and perhaps it could have cost of some money....
