Went out yesterday morning on the captain john for there 12 hour trip. Caught two keeper snapper and 30+ not. Brother did the same thing.

I Most other folks caught 2-3 and any spades and triggers they kept. there were 3 kings, six sharks, some bonita, a dolphin, and two ling caught. One ling was AT LEAST 75 pounds(he bottomed a 60# scale out hardcore....i had the priviladge of helping the guy move him....i bet he weighed more than 75).


I had to complaints that the boat caused. One of the hands was a bit of an ***, but i know what his problem was. It was still his fault, but hey.


My other was that the da** boat moved around to much. Welld get to a spot were they were biting, stay for a little while , then as soon as it had gone more than 5-10 mins with no keeper snapper, we were moving. Helld haul to a new spot, then sit and circle for 20 minutes looking for his "hole". Find a spot and fish it! i bet we fished 4-5 hours, maybe less of a 12 hour ride.

I broguht my own tackle, and after landing a large one for an olderr gentleman next to me on there gear, i recommend doing the same.


In short, illd do it again, but get on the back.
