 Rattlesnake on Jetties

Some friends of mine were fishing the Jetties in P.A last weekend, got there before daylight and got set up, as the sun rose the realised they had intruded on a small (about 36") Rattlesnake lying in a crack.
Thanks goodness none of them were bitten, Warden took it away in a dog carrier.
I was just curious if this is normal, seems like a weird place for a rattler.

Galveston Island has the highest population of rattlesnakes per square acre in all of Texas. There are many, many rattlers on the coastal praries.
Any place you find trash, you usually find rats. Any place you find rats, you usually find snakes. Another good reason to clean up your trash plus some when you go fishing.

Seen all three on the jetties, trash, rats, and rattlers,....... surprised it was out so early, must of been a warm night.........done fenced with a few rats on the north jetty from time to time, stubborn boogers, them rats.
