My friend and I are planning our 3rd trip to Lake Fork in a few weeks. We would like to hire a guide for a full day and try to learn how to fish the deep water (15'-30') a little better than we do. We know what we're doing in shallow water, but not so much in the deeper water.
What are everyone's suggestions?
Thanks.

just to name a few haha.....giving me a list of 10 guys doesn't help me AT ALL man!! I'm sure all these guides are great.....but surely they are not all equally as good at fishing deep stuff. We want to hire THE BEST deep water guide on Lake Fork. We aren't interested in going into a cove and stacking 2-3 pounders like cord wood.....(not saying any of those guys would do that to us, just making our goals clear). We want to learn how to catch nice fish in deep water structure (trees).

Wade, I have to respectfully disagree with you. There are at least ten guides on Lake Fork with equal superior deep water fishing skills. Any one of them can give you the trip of a lifetime.
It all boils down to who has located the best schools of big fish at the time you are there. Last year, I would have to say the number one "deep water" guide was James Caldemeyer. He was on schools of BIG fish for several weeks last summer. On one spot with him we boated over thirty bass from four to nine pounds in a little over two hours.
Yet in previous years, the "hot stick" was Rick Loomis. Other years it was Gene Snider. I think you get my point.
BTW, if you're looking to learn about fishing deep trees, you're looking to learn deep cover, not deep structure. fwiw.

Agree-Jim Sr.--We fish regularly with Tom and he is an outstanding deep water guy.
