Took the girls to Live Oak lake to see if any redear were biting and boy were they. The only problem is they were all small except for one. It was windy but that helped make the heat bearable. Ended up with well over 50 gills and redear and one kitty. We had an audience most of the time we were there, but it didn't seem to be impressed with our angling skills. It was a big one, about 6 inches long all folded up. Most of the redear weren't any bigger than this. The biggest one Becca caught. I'll enter it if no other kids do. Did get the one channel cat which put up a good fight after catching babies.

Hey Mike, I went out there for awhile this morning, did you notice how artfully I decorated the trees with all manner of hooks and folats I had one pole out for cats and got some light nibbles. And ended up catching perhaps 20-25 asstd panfish, thought only a couple that were decent size. It was wasnt too bad down by the creek with the shade and the wind. On another note, when I left I decided to use the directions banker provided me and find converse lake.... so my question is?, is there more than one part to converse lake cause compared to live oak lake, converse is just a big puddle, I was amazed at how little fishing area I saw. Converse lake is small but don't let it fool ya, I was thinking there wasn't much point in being there when I saw a guy out on the water pull in a pretty good size bass. From what I've been told people pull a good number of fish out of there - and while I find that odd it's apparently true.

Good to see you getting those girls out. I see you caught Robert's Channel Cat. Nice catch and a super job to Rachel on getting a nice 8.25" Redear.

You should not have any problems using regular worms. Fish the smaller pond from the bank. There is also a good spot where the creek runs into the lake. Good luck.

Bread and bacon also work well at Live Oak.

The little pond has a ton of smaller panfish in it, they will go to town on just about anything you use. The first time I ever fished there I fished the pond and I went through 50 waxworms pretty quickly.

Mike where did you catch that kitty? Been looking for some eatin' cats. All I ever seem to catch on chicken liver are the bouys. Lol.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Caught the catfish at the mouth of the little creek/drainage ditch by the softball fields. With the lake being so low I was able to walk all the way out to the point without getting wet. It was caught on a worm.
