My "Old-Faithful" is going south on me, man I love this reel. I have had for almost 14 years. It is starting to "scream" at me when I cast. Have done the normal lube on her and no improvement. Anybody know where I could send it to get her looked at and "healed" here locally. Thanks.

You might want to clean all the bearings in the spool real good and then see if it still does it. I take them all out and put them in a small cup with reel cleaner and let it sit for 15 minutes. I turn the bearing with a pencil a couple times in the cleaner and you won't believe what comes out if you have not cleaned them in a couple years. If that does not work you can replace the bearings.
I have several of those and use them for carolina rigging. I also have a couple of the high dollar light blue versions with the light weight spools. Good old reels.

Bearings are going out. Just change the spool bearing and the outboard bearing on the palm side and that should clear up the problem and get her going again just fine.

I have 3 of the same reels and am having problems with 2 of them. After you cast them and turn the reel handle the thumb bar does not completely return and engage properly. If someone can fix them please let me know, not even sure if parts are still avail.
