Which would you prefer? Graphite or Glass for chunkin DD22's?
Why would you pick one over the other?
Thanks!!

I prefer graphite. Deep cranking is more about "feel" so the sensitivity graphite provides gives the needed input to understand what is down there.

You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

Glass by far - graphite just isn't flexible enough for me. I like a soft, slow, whippy crankin' stick, even for the deep stuff.

I like Graphite because you can feel with it and it cast farther for me!

glass for me. it is more foregiving and less lost fish when they surface. i dont experience any loss of feeling. if i want to explore the bottom, i use a football head jig or c-rig.

Graphite, mainly because it's lighter and deep crankin' can work on you anyway. As far as action, you can buy any action in either.

8' glass with 50# braid you can throw a dd much farther than with graphite and you can lay into them on the hookset with out worry of rippin hooks free.

Check out S-Glass blanks if you want something a little more sensitive and crisper than E-Glass or fiberglass blanks. Lot more sensitivity but still that forgiving parabolic curve rod for those hooksets on a long cast.......
