I just read the story on BlogdelNarco. The piece stated that the island was the islet of Falcon Dam. Say what? Perhaps the camp was actually on the backside of the dam on the Mexican side? As I understand it, the Coyotes is no longer an island (it's a peninsula) and the island it the Benavides is no longer an island. What about you guys that have been recently? Kendrick, where were you when you heard the gunfire?

You are going to have to move farther away than that! I guess you didn't see the dateline episode of the gang member shot in Dallas by a rival gang member? He was a singer who killed someone in Mexico and the rival gang sent someone to Dallas to kill him. These gangs probably have members in every major city in America. As long as Americans are buying drugs this problem will not go away.

The problem could go away pretty quick with the border closed and our military protecting our border instead of being in 25 other countries.

Neuvo Guierro (sp?) is the town near the dam. There has been some pretty nasty stuff going on in that city over the last couple of years. What's that big cut there (Salinos?)? If the report's accurate that's where I'd say it is -- Coyote's pretty far (10 miles, maybe more)from the town.

And this is assuming the report's accurate.

+1. Fouzman, we were fishing tiger Island at the time. It looked like all this was going down at the mouth of the sallians. We could see the coptors swooping down and firing rounds, and the 50 callibur shots were un mistakeable, we heard shots for a solid hour and a half. Saw quite a few boats running back to the US side during that time span. lol
