There are several ways to see if it is a viper(poisonous). If the eyes look like cat eyes, if it looks like it has 2 sets of nostrils, and if the head is triangular looking. I have seen lots of snakes and caught several as well. Including a 7.5 foot black snake.

definitely non poisonous, and i still think it is a rat snake, possibly a corn snake. Round head only one set of nostrils that i could see. still kicking myself for not getting a better pic

I would agree with this.

The picture is blurry and too far away for any of us yo guarantee one way or the other but again the length and coloration from what I can see in the picture makes me think anything but a copperhead.
