Will the big flood create more of a chance to allow invasive species a way into Texas waters? Discuss

I think the Red River is the only risk, and I think we're ok.

I've fished many Mississippi River waterways just south of I20 and the Ouachita River a LOT around Monroe and never noticed any of the jumping carp if that's what you're getting at...

Now, those carp are all over a lake contected to the mississippi just north of Memphis. My in-laws have a lake house that's made to float and it's over 16 feet off the ground which is about 8 feet above the lake which is well above the normal river level though...

as far as flooding, the flood of 1927 didn't reach very far up the Red...

I also noticed that a lake that i fished all the time back home (Yucatan) was still the main river channel in 1927...cool.

Wonder if any of the floodwaters will spill into Reelfoot Lake.

Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

As it floods things into the backwaters of the Red there will be the chance of movement.

There was an earthquake in early times before the Mississippi River area was settled that caused the Mississippi to flow backwards.
