My question is if i buy a bunch of minnows, what size should i use?

Minnows are not cheating at all! This time of year I don't think it will hardly matter. I would personally use the medium or small ones.

Well, then I'm in a good class of "Cheaters".

Counting, Capps & Coleman, all of the CAT club, Wally Marshall & a whole bunch more that know what the "Go to" bait of choice is.

I prefer a medium to large.

I use minnows all the time!!! The smaller the better!!!!

I'm kinda like the firemen. Big fire - big line, little fire - little line.

For crappie, "The smaller the minnow the bigger the crappie."

If you want bass, "Big bait, big fish"

For sandies, use the same size minnow as the shad in the lake.

i think mediums are the best, i like a little bigger minnow, usually 2.5-3 inch

If your only fishing for crappie I would go small... Maybe get a dozen or two mediums also... See what you like the best...

Hypothedically speaking, if I were to use minnows, the medium sized one will be the ones.

And to save minno's double hook em....

I use minnows all the time. The idea is to catch fish. Jigs don't always work the best. If I use minnows, I use small and medium and I hook'em on with a 1/16th oz fat body jig. Works like a champ.If you miss on the initial hit, you are still primed with the jig for round two.
