They can get large in the power plant laeks here...caught a one pounder this year crappie fishing on Coleto creek...freaked me out as it was twice as big as any perch I'd ever caught and fought like a good bass.

Nice! Not trying to be Negative Nancy but does anyone else find it strange that the anglers shoulder is reflecting off the door in the back, the photographer is reflected, even the fat guy walking by with his coffee cup is reflected; but the tail of the fish is not. Just strange to me. But a nice fish none the less.

Dang wish he would have left that one for me. I have two days booked there with a guide in Oct. when my SIL that is in the Marines returns from being deployed. That is one huge perch.

Ca ci bon thats a Le Gran Chinkapin(Red ear Shell cracker) right there,they get pretty big in the brackish water in Southwest La 2lbs pretty common but I never imagine one that big congrats.

I love those redears too.
We had 'em get up to 2# back in ETexas.

My uncles used to catch 'em up to 3# in Mississippi.
But he said he caught it in on a 2# cricket.
