Bill Sweeten lost two phones in the lake 3 days apart. Today we are fishing and he gets a phone call, he pulls out his phone and it has a 16oz water bottle zip tied to a water proof phone.
I guess the miss's got tired of buying phones last week. LOL
We all do crazy stuff sometimes on the water, usually when we are in a hurry.
My dumbest moment was meeting my wifes cousin for a night trip at his house in Carrolton. I moved my car out of the driveway when we hooked up the boat and left it running so I could pull it back into the driveway. His dad calls us at 2:00am some 5 hours later, the neighbors woke him up and told him that there was a car in front of their house that was idleing away did he know anything about it. DOH!!!
I have seen seasoned fishing veterans pull a lot of rookie mistakes. I think we all have to laugh at them and move on.

Na I am the guy that mark has seen using his hole body cuz I haven't had a lot of time with the ole baitcaster. If I do something stupid I expect it to be told and laughed at. It might make the next person feel better.

It gets easier. These days there are so many tutorials on YouTube to really get the settings down on a baitcaster. I still backlash at least a few times a day and I have even manged to throw an entire rod and reel in the lake when making a cast. thumb

Oh my......That takes first place.

Once I tried to start my boat and it wouldn't start. almost tore it apart trying to figure out the problem. After a several minutes I looked down and I had left it in gear. I sat down and had a great laugh at myself. dunce

Well I know a guy who met his fishing partner for the first time and the guy had baitcasting reels on all spinning rods.

I saw a picture ad in a national bass fishing magazine where they had put the reel on the rod backwards just this past year. rolfmao

Everything is ok until folks start hooking me...Happened 4 times so far. Luckily none of them have been in the face.

Worst one was getting hooked in the back and they guy was too wimpy to push it on thru. He wouldnt do it. Had to fish rest of day (2 more hours) with a PopR in my back. Buddy of mine got it out at the ramp. - Lake Amistad

What do I do? Everything wrong!!! But I'm learning I think, biggest problem I have is casting, still using more body but getting the hang of letting the rod do the work, accurate casting is also a big problem although I am getting better at casting to the ladders and poles o the docks at EM I only had one cast today that I wrapped the line around a ladder 3 times.

I was watching a fishing show recently and saw a guy in a pre launch casting contest, hook his depth finder at the console and caused a big professional over-run...

I caught a fish on weightless worm, unhooked the fish, leaned the rod against the front pedestal, put the slack line in my mouth as I used both hands to open the worm bag and grab a new worm. Rod slides off the seat, slack line quickly becomes tight and slides through my lips all the way to the Gama 3/0 EWG on the other end. Straight to the lip...
