never been to the coast going next week only have bass rods and reels. are surface lures ok to bring or soft plastics or suspending baits. i just dont know help needed lots of help lol also what type of fish should i be fishing for thanks all

If you are only fishing artificials, the first question has to be: Are you wading or boating? This will pretty much determine what to do this time of year, IMHO. Trout are sorta' starting to move to the grass; reds and flounder are sorta' coming back from gulf spawn...give a little more detail (and where you will be) and the real pros here can tell you a lot more. Bass equipment will be fine...what I use 75% of the time. All these last minute fronts change things...water is still a little cool at around 65, but pompano will be in surf on fish bites, there will be some trout under lights and in the surf, etc. if you aren't bringing a boat. Reds start hitting rattle traps off jetty in the spring.

thanks bobaloo, will be fishing from the jettyies.also may use bait and we may wade. just not sure. will do the most recommended way.
