okay, is there anyone willing to share information on how to catch crappie at the big 155 bridge? i set there this morning and watched people all around me catching them along the pillars on jigs. i tried different depths, below the wall that connects the pillars, nothing worked. look over and poles are bent all around me though. i'm using light spinning tackle, various colored jigs.

My opinion. Spend the money to go with a guide for a day or half day. Well worth my money everytime I have done it. Haven't been on Palestine but I predict there will be several thumps for guides in a few posts.

I am by no means an expert. I remember fishing for crappie in deep brush at Melvern lake in Kansas with my brother. He kept catching fish and I could not feel the light thumps. Made me crazy. Make sure you can see your line, windy heavier jig, try a bobber and a jig. You can see the bobber if it moves slightly and forces you to slow down the presentation. Add a minnow to the jig hooked thru the nose, they will hold on to your bait longer. Don't give up keep trying, you will get it dialed in. Keep changing variables, jig size, depth ... etc. Watch those other guys what are they doing exactly. That is why it is called fishing not catching, happens to all of us. When you do catch the first fish, remember depth, etc. Good luck.

Good crappie fishing in all of them. Didn't mean to hijack the post.
Keep on fishing.

155 or any bridge can be real good or real bad...you can watch people catch fish next to you all day and you just can't buy a bite. I normally don't fish bridges due to the amount of pressure and just don't care to be that close to a bunch of people. I would say that a good method this time of year under 155 is a swing presentation, seems like you getmore bites by pitchin it out and letting it swing back to you. This will also help you determine how deep the fish are. Good luck. Clay Epperson
