Saw four gators yesterday sunninig themselves on the bank,They were about 6 to maybe 7 foot long.Cute little critters. Then I saw the fifth one.OMG.I had no idea they grew that big in fork.I have jumped in the lake many times to cool off.Have even done it at night. But I will never do that again. The SOB was every bit of 10 feet and possibly 12 and had a monsterous head. Was anything but cute.

Gators are cold blooded. I seriously doubt you would ever have any gator problems on Fork in the fall/winter.

Now in the summertime, could be another story...

throw em a frog and watch em go crazy after it... mess with them too much and they come towards your boat.. thats when it is time to leave. then can jump up on your deck with one tail swipe in the water....

instead of shooting one, why not just avoid them.

Any chance they effect the bass population in a negative way? I figured a lake like Fork would have them removed ASAP..

Let's see if I finally got this right, with Dallas draining it dry, no grass, gators eating all the bass, and the sandies eating all the bait fish, I guess Fork is done. Only thing left to do is stock hybirds. That ought to do it.

dont give them any ideas... they thought it was a "good" idea to overpopulate cypress springs with grass carp and look at what it did. they wont even stock bass in it because there's no places for the fry to hide.

That is what makes them more dangerous, if they get used to people feeding them they come to expect it therefor loosing fear of humans and becoming more agressive, anyway be careful out there guys.
