These still need to be tweaked a bit. I am thinking of tying some of these at GCC. (that and bucktail streamers)

LOL..yes, I did get hooked on them. I tied up two more tonight. I think they turned out pretty good. I will probably post a pic of them tomorrow. Do you think anyone would like to see them at the GCC? I was just gonna tie some bucktail streamers, but I am thinking seriously about tying some of these up too.

Kelly: I read an article in a Fly Tyer magazine where the guy said that to judge sparseness you should lay the fly on a magazine and it was sparse enough when you could read the magazine thru the wing. For a few years I brought that magazine to conclaves and opened it to that article and tossed a completed fly on it so all could do that. It was kind of fun. It has been so long ago now that I don't even remember who wrote the article. Sometimes the fish seem to prefer flies with a sparse wing.

Yes, I have heard that before. I have been pretty good at sparseness. But even the ones at Fly Fish Ohio are much fuller than I am used to tying. I did two more today. I am getting close to where I want to be with them. These are bigger flies, on a 2/0 Daiichi 2441 hook. I used my best bucktails for these. Oh, and Big Dale, the last one I am posting just for you. ;-)

Thanks Kelkay: I just love that thing you do where you mix the colors of the wing. It taks the fly to a level above what everyone else is doing.

I am happy you liked this one Big Dale. I love to mix the colors on wings. But sometimes I just try to go by patterns. Then I kind of reach out, and do my own little thing to them. I will make more mixed bucktail wings for you. I love to look at the mixed colors as well. I think it adds to the fly in many cases.

Okay, I finally got the exact look I was wanting on this one, as far as length, fullness etc... I am happy with this one, and think it is the best so far. I made it the night before the GCC. It was the only one I did that day.
