I'm off tomorrow (at the moment) and I'm going to the Tyler store to feed my weekly bait buying addiction.

It is a real holiday in Mexico. It commemorates the battle of Puebla. Not a Corona fake holiday.....but senko the Mayo sound pretty good also lol.

What is thi deal with Academy? buddy and I were fishing yesterday and we both were talking about how their stock is really not very good anymore. No Mann baits anymore and all you see are small sections of different baits and a whole wall of Zoom. Started ordring from Tackle Warehoused and BassPro again. Still a great store for everything else. But they are fixing to lose lots of bass fishermen.

the one I live buy barely has any selection of senkos and I went to the bass pro in spanish fort, AL and they had at most 8 selections of senkos I picked up one whole bag back to online shopping.

Academy in Tyler is always out of seems like eveything I go there for now. Frustrating and I see myself going there less because of it. I just got to tacklewarehouse-much easier and they usually have it.

No trouble like that at my local Academy. They're very well stocked.

Since we're in the middle of fishing season right now, I'd bet many outdoor retailers are going to have a few thin spots in their inventory.

Especially when you live near a prime fishing location or in a large metropolitan area.

I hunt a ton in the fall months and it's the same thing for steel shot (ducks) at local retailers. And don't try to order a duck call or camo in October or November from one of the mail-order catalogs - good chance it will be on back order.

Man, I noticed the same thing. I've gone to Academy 3 times this month, and twice I left with out any baits. All they have is zoom, grande bass, a very small assortment of Yamamoto, a ton of Big Bite Baits (which I dont really care for) and a ton of H2O baits. Kinami's are gone, Yum, pretty much gone, Berkley power baits nearly gone. Thier jig selection has grown a little bit, but they just dont seem to have the variety that they use to have.

I placed an order for Senko's at Tacklewarehouse because the 3 Academy's I hit up no longer carried the colors I like. That is the first time I have ever had to place an order for Senko's.

More clothes, more shoes, less tackle seems to be the trend. Whether that's a planned thing or just coincidence I can't say. They may have a lot bigger margin on some of the other stuff and they're trying to shift their business model in that direction.

Yah, and don't waste your time going to Wal-Mart for tackle unless your catfishing. The one here @ Cedar Creek is a joke!!!
