Just got back from the bridge, only fished for two hrs before work and got 2 keepers and 3 non keepers so over all not a bad day. Went and scouted out the damn and the state park but the wind killed that idea, the bridge had probably 7 tubers out and about 12 bank guys including me, I left the kayak at home. Over all everybody was doing pretty decent getting some nice large ones every now and then fun day and I finally got enough for a fish fry for the wife and me. todays little catch. p.s does anybody know any good area to go cat fishing around our area? I was thinking of trying to fish Shoshonee at the mouth of the river were it meets the lake for some cats but I don't have a clue if that is any good. Are you heading out that way anytime soon Sam?

There is actually some great cat fishing in the cove behind Henrietta Bridge. If you go back in that cove they really like to hang around in there. Danny Kings.

There is actually some great cat fishing in the cove behind Henrietta Bridge. If you go back in that cove they really like to hang around in there. Danny Kings. Is that the cove to the SE of the bridge or a bit farther up N by NE of the bridge? If the cat fishing is good there I can do crappie and some cat fishing at the same place depending on how busy the bridge is. Im new at the cat fishing so I did some basic research I got some chicken livers soaked in garlic salt since I dont want to buy live bait and don't have a cast net. Then I was going to use a slip bobber with a 1 ft leader and a treble hook or possible a size 6 or 7 hook at the end of it. After that my knowledge is pretty much gone on the subject of cats. I'll give those areas a try beats a 45 min paddle on Shohonee. I'm mainly hunting for 2-4 lbs fish for eating, nothing huge that is going to turn my kayak into a jet ski. If anybody is doing some bank fishing for cats or anything or needs a second for gas on a boat Im always game and avaiable during the week and pretty much most weekends, especially early morning weekends. Just let me know and I'll meet you all some where.

If you are in the main part of the lake looking toward the bridge you would paddle through and go left go past where the boat ramp is and keep going back in that cove. There are also some good crappie back in there if there this time of year. I would use punch bait or livers. Maybe even shad? Cut maybe? Works for me. Good luck Rythe.

Yeah ill be using liver since that is what I have on hand, would be nice to see crappie back there. I could avoid the headache that is Hen bridge during this time of the year. Ill be on the water probably from sunrise to late pm on Saturday if the wind plays nice

third bridge has never hit for me yet, I have not caught a single fish there to date. Then again every time I go there the weather goes from gorgeous to hurricane winds as soon as I spend the 20 mins to paddle out there.
