As the subject suggest, I'm curious on what yall think the best baitcasting reel is too cast light lures such as poppers and weightless worms. Imagine price doesn't matter, I'm just curious as to what you prefer and think is the best one out there.

I think your choice of line is going to dictate a lot of this discussion

Steez, but it's too much money for play. Better to just use a spinning reel for light lures. No need to buy a new one.

Daiwa Pixy is the spinning reel of the baitcasters. Pixy hands down, especially if you can find a nice used one for a great price.

I use the Curado 50 and or the 50 MG. Both work great for what you are asking.

Steez or Chronarch Mg 50. Both are great reels.

My son is using an ardent 400 on a lamaiglass crank bait rod and it will cast 40 yards with a 1\4 plug.

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

just a well tuned reel. Id say a clean reel with bearings flushed, and a low viscosity oil in the spool bearings will do the trick.

I use primarilly h2o mettles and can cast weightless stuff a mile, and I typically only use 1/8 - 3/16 on my texas rigs and can cast them as far as i need.

bearing upgrades can help as well, but they still have to be clean and a low viscosity oil used.
