Not familiar with the Galveston area, but the jetties will be holding reds. Some over sized and some slot sized. Any jetty system along the Texa coast will hold reds. Try drifting live piggies about 8-14' under a styrofoam float. Use a slip rig system. Good Luck

IF YOU LIKE TO WADE, FIND AND ISLAND/REEF OR MARSH AND FISH AWAY FROM IT ON THE OUTGOING TIDE. MY MOST CONSISTENT KEEPER SIZED REDFISHING HAS BEEN FISHING THE OUTOGING TIDE WHERE A POND OR MARSH DRAINS. REDS LOVE TO SET UP IN THE CURRENT AND HIT BAIT AS IT IS COMING OUT OF A BAYOU, MARSH, POND, ETC...

Call Ranier with Redfish Roundup Guide Service. That man knows how to catch keeper Red's and he's a good ole boy too. Check his site: www.redfishroundup.com He fishes out of Pt. O'Connor/Seadrift. Limits out 10/12 trip so far with me! The only two we didn't limit was cold weather cold front fishing. Should have canceled! He's good!

If your a live/dead bait fisherman it's all in the size of bait and usually you will want to fish an inlet or a jetty. Cut mullet or cut ladyfish is prime bait but your likely to haul in a monster red as well. If you are on fishing from shore make sure you have lots of line and big gear and circle hooks. Every now and then you will get a keeper red mixed in with the oversized ones.
