Mexico license is pointless unless your boat doesn't Start and the imaginary Mexican law enforcement rolls up on you

I have only seen one LE boat in Mexico, on Amistad. Didn't check me, though I had my permit. On falcon, pretty safe to assume all rules are out. Admittedly, I bought one for amistad as I would expect no issues there should I get checked.

My buddy has had a house at Amistad since the lake was impounded and has only seen a Mexico game warden once in all those years. I think I'd pay the $$$ and just not risk it. There was another boat consfiscated years ago on Falcon that belongs to one of the original Choke Canyon guides. Rods, reels, everthing! But that was several years ago, before all this current bs

I think I'd need an AK-47 in the boat instead of a Mexican Fishing License, especially on Falcon.

I live in South Texas and fish Falcon quite a bit and we also fish the Mexico side. We quit fishing up the Salado when they had the problem at old Guerrero Viejo with the jet skiers. I have never seen a game warden of any kind, but I suppose there is always a "first" time. My partner lived in Zapata for 27 years; when he retired he moved to San Marcos. He told me in all those years never saw a game warden. Guess it's kinda like an insurance policy, you are betting you want and they are betting you will. You rolls the dice ya takes your chances.

Beware of the boat with "Gaim Wardin" spray painted on the side!
I say this as a joke but wasn't there a case of a fake Game Warden boat trying to pull people over down ther last year?

I live in Del Rio and for 3 years I fushed the Mexican side exclusively and only once during a tournament I saw a game warden. That was about 5 years ago, now for the most part I fish the US side. Around last year the Mexican game wardens got a new boat and a new game warden. That new game warden was pretty tough and had some connections on the mexican side so many people on the Mexican side learned the hard way that they needed to have a fishing licence. She was confiscating equipment left and right. Anyway, she is gone for now but who ever replaces her is probably going to keep it up. I say that if you are fishing Amistad on the Mexican side, you better either get your license or you might just get a surprise.

Get caught without one while fishing over there and you'll understand right away why you should have bought one..
Think about it...WHAT IF your boat breaks down over there or you get caught up in a gill net or whatever reasons you can think of.....you'll damn sure wish you had one if for some reason you need one.
Why buy a Texas license...IF you don't get caught...why have one???
Stupid logic, isn't it ??

If your boat breaks down, a mexico license will do nothing to help you. Think about is for a second. Drug cartel own that side.

It is simple, It is the Law and one is required if you fish Mexixo whether you get checked or not. Same on the Texas side you need a fishing lis whether you get checked or not. I make sure that my clients have both or we do not fish Mexico.

You guys that don't want to buy a Mexican license and fish the Mexican side of Falcon crack me up. You spend countless thousands on tackle, boats, vehicles, lodging and incidentals, yet you won't spend $70/year for a Mexican License? Makes absolutlely no sense to me. None, whatsoever. Kind of the same logic people who have no insurance use. "It'll never happen to me."
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

You could probably catch a 10 lb bass on a snoopy zebco, but you're not gonna try it. Just use the same philosophy and enjoy your trip!
