Had my boat just over 6 months now and after replacing 2 regulators (first one failed right after install, covered under warranty), some rotted wood in the bilge area and under drivers seat I thought I was ready for some summer time fishing.
Not to be. I noticed oil leaking out of the prop area and took it in: 2 teeth broken off the pinion gear!
Need a new lower unit...
I guess that's part of being a boat owner. Hopefully I'll be on a lake sometime this year!

I feel your pain buddy. I went through the same thing last spring. My first three times out last year I had to be towed back to the ramp. I finally found a mechanic that I trusted and after the last repair we took the boat for a spin on the lake just to make sure everything was good to go. The good news is the wind blows every day so you probably wouldn't be on the lake anyway.

LOL! I know, the wind has been crazy. The sad thing was, when the dealer called me yesterday I saw their name on my caller ID and got all excited thinking I was going to pick up my boat and go out on a perfect day!

Amen..a boat is nothing but a whole in the water that you throw money at! The happiest day of a boat owner is the day he sold his boat. The second happiest day was the day he bought it.
