Ok I have a 2011 mako 18 lts and I absolutely love the boat! It does everything I want it to do. Only problem is the self drain system. When I am moving I have no water in the boat but when I stop to fish the boat seems to let in way to much water. I sometimes have 3 inches standing at the back of the boat!! Does aanyone know of a problem it could be? Oh and I have a 90 optimax with a jackplate! Thanks in advance!!
i love to fish but catching is soooo much better!!

Have you discussed this with your dealer?

Check your live well hoses/connections. Does it have scuppers? Sounds like one has some trash in it.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Stick your finger in that hole and tell me if you feel rubber. If you do, clean all the debris out. If you dont, then take a pic and post it here.

I can't address your boat, but my 2007 did the same thing on its maiden voyage. Turned out my 1901 Mako requires 5 plugs. I had installed 4. That's not to make you feel dumb. Believe me, I feel dumb enough for both of us. Also, my hull is open bow to stern. If that's the case with yours, your bilge pump should be peein' like a race horse 'cauce I guarantee if you've got water on the deck, its found its way beneath the deck. I pulled my pump apart after its baptism and found the discharge tube blocked with what I assume was factory plastic sheeting. Hope this helps.

Make sure you put the drain plug in the bilge opening and not the live well drain. Don't ask me how I know but, it was dark early one morning....

Also check to make sure that on the hull-(imbedded in it) there is not a water pickup scoop so it fills the livewell while you are running. My CC (another brand) has that feature and I finally found the valve under the floor by the built-in gas tank that turned off the input-it was causing the cockpit to flood from overfilling the livewell

I have the same boat and same problem. A drain stop from the plumbing section works great for it.

Just go buy a sack of plugs. That hull has never been self bailing in spite of marketing BS.
