Am I crazy to take a bass boat out there in this wind? Duh...
But I MUST... GET... a line... in the water!!
I plan on putting in at Clear Lake park and floating down to the Kemah bridge and fishing the channel there... Once I get to the restaurants, take a right and fish that side around 10-12 feet... Nothing happens, then I'll go to the OTHER side of the channel...
Live shrimp will probably get bought... I want to use artificials though... Any suggestions? Anyone else going out there tonight?

Got on real quick to check the weather... Catching reds, specks, and plenty of cats on live shrimp...
Swell is pretty bad once you get past the boardwalk...

2 reds, 1 keeper... 4 trout, 2 keeper...
And more cats than I ever care to see in my life... Although, I'd rather catch those all night than not catch anything at all...
We fished from midnight to 3 am... That swell was vicious... As soon as we passed the end of the railing (where it opens up to the ocean), we hit one wave where we were at least 7-8 foot above the valley of the wave... In a 17' bass boat, that can definitely raise your heartbeat! haha...
For everyone's reference, the Super Save Food Store that sells live shrimp at the intersection of Nasa Rd 1 & Hwy 146 (behind the Citgo) is open from 6 am to 9 pm... But if you're running late, you can call her at (281)474-3660, and she will wait around a little while... If you're fishing at night, Sylvan Park is a little ways north, but they stay open a little later (10:30-11), but do NOT follow the directions on google LOL! Just get directions directly to Sylvan Park...
We were fishing with live shrimp... I couldn't get anything to bite on artificials, but I'm new to artificials and saltwater... I'll keep trying... Prolly gonna check out the marshes in the yak next go round...
