Catches aggressive hungry fish and I like aggressive hungry fish. Dad refuses to toss em though he would rather c-rig, but i think he might throw c-rig in a puddle in walmart's parking lot.

Good question on the colors. Is the sexy shad the "best one"? I mainly use the Strike King 6xd in the sexy shad and that is my favorite color.

How do you effectively use them? Just cast past structure? Or around humps? Points?

pints, drop offs, rocks, humps. you got it. I do throw them over deep timber and deep grass. when it comes to wimpy stick up I usually use something else to avoid being snagged every cast. plus, it is usually too shallow. +1 on the sexy shad color, best all around color for a hard bait. I also like citrus and TN shad. great deep timber bait, even if your not on bottom bang em off the trees and stumps.

Dobyns 805cb, Revo STX, 15lb Big Game, and yes sexy shad is the best color....but I think we just like the name. Throw this setup on a deep point at Falcon and hang on!

All my fish over 9 pounds have come on a DD22. Strange, I know. I like the XD6 as well, but get hung up in the brush much more often and the bills on the XD6 seem to crack where they attach to the body. It must be the longer bill of the DD22 that keeps them from being hung as often or that I use them more often and am used to fishing them. X10 on the 36DD comment!!!!

I like the SK 6XD as well. They are both good baits.

Love me some DD-22 crankbaits! I lost a double-digit at the boat on Fork several summers ago on a shad DD-22. That hooked me once and for all on using cranks. And I'm like you, they catch hungry and aggressive fish, just the kind that I like to catch. Give me a crankbait anyday over C-rigging or finesse presentations.
