went to grapevine today after work. i ended up catchin a nice crappie and nice bass off some shad.. while throwing my net i ended up catching a 20+ pound carp!!! talk about freaking out!! that was totally awesome and unexpected!!! one day ill make a photobucket and put all my pics up

I used to have a cast net for minnows which is the design of it.But because people keep game fish caught in them,when I would use mine people would look at me like I was some kind of pig,so I got rid of it.
Now I just watch the millions of shiners swim by like everybody else.

I used to have a cast net for minnows which is the design of it.But because people keep game fish caught in them,when I would use mine people would look at me like I was some kind of pig,so I got rid of it.
Now I just watch the millions of shiners swim by like everybody else. That was the point I was going to make with my question above...

I still use mine, but if I do catch a game fish it goes back immediately. Just keepin the shad. If someone looks at me like im cheatin they are more than welcome to come look in my bucket. With the price of minnows goin up its about the only way to go.

shoot i dont care what people think i do my fishing legally and i catch my bait legally thats all that matters! the crappie and bass i caught were both legal so they were my lunch/dinner the carp i caught in my net was full of eggs and i let her swim free. as to any game fish in my net they always get released to be caught with a pole!

good ADVICE<< IN SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS>> I could never figure out the net, then one day i was thinking about the word follow thru. I tie the net cord to left hand, drop the rest of it neatly on the ground. fan out the net (4footer) key word>> throw it towards the tree line look in that direction and follow tru to there. gives net time to spread. throwing it upwards. seems everytime I look at the lake it dont spread enough. also you are throwing the net at the boat launch aint cha?
