During the dog days of summer I have had great luck downrigging on Buchanan on full moonnights. I am wanting to do different types of night fishing as well. Who fishes at night and what do you do.
Thanks Brandon

What ever you do,..... Make sure you have a light to see the "Golden Rule" All kidding aside, i used to up untill a couple years ago would fish at night with decent success, now i just hit the water early mornings for a couple hours during the hot times, Or throw the top up and sweat it out.

Kerry I went and bought me two more rulers!!!
I would think at night with the green lights anchorded over some humps in 10-15 foot of water would be pretty productive.

We have had decent luck catching white bass with the green lights fishing with minnows. Those lights do a good job of bringing in the bait and the fish follow. We bought one from the reel-lites.com guy who is always posting on here. It is LED instead of fluorescent. I like it. Anyway, maybe you can share some advice once you figure it out! Good luck!

The biggest Stripers I ever caught were caught slow trolling a "surgical tube" (sort of like a really long worm) at night on the Long Island Sound (N.Y.). They were 32 and 34 lbs. Granted it was a long time ago but Striped Bass are Striped Bass.
I think you really have to know the waters since we trolled around various rocks, sand bars, etc. I think it was a full moon (makes sense - you can still see a bit). At dawn, we sight fished schools of Bluefish. I still remember that long ago night of fishing.

I like to striper fish from about 3:00 am to sunup during full moon nights. The stripers really seem to feed good in that timeframe on bright nights.

I met a couple of guy's from Waco that only striper fished at night.
I was at Whitney Small mouth fishing and they where bringing them in big time. I saw them four different nights, trolling in front of the dam, no lights outside of running lights. They where using 6" hard artificial's (cant remember the name).
They thought the bite was better since the lake had little boat and recreation noise. I don't know, but it made sense and they where nailing them. This was in August a few years back.

Thanks Brandon Been jugling for blue cats at night for years. we use a reflector on flagging jugs so we can spot them from over a mile away (requires really good spotlight). If they are blinking no fish on if they are not blinking (standing/flagging get over there fish is on. Loads of fun some monskers to be had too. If you stay on location you can troll for stripers ect, in between chasin flagging jugs.

I've never tried for them at night in the summer. My buddy and I are going to try for hybrids with artificials this summer. We are going to try casting for them. It works in the fall and spring, so why not in the summer. We might try slow trolling Gizz 4's for them at night. Worth a try.

Last summer on Buchanan I had one night where I boated 44 fish including 21 that were between 20" and 30" downriggng. If I would have had someone with me I think it would have been double. Can't wait for it to get hot again just to do that.
Love the jug fishing idea to go along with it.

Last fall I started fishing for hybrids at night on RC. I have had great luck fishing near lighted docks that are relatively close to deep water. I usually rig up a few lines with live bait and at the same time cast a rattle trap out near the dock light. We catch limits like this almost every time we go.

Hey guys, I have a question - I have a dock I want to light up and bring in fish. I've got 1,000 -3000 watt lights on light stands I can extend out over the water. Is this all I need to do is light it up? If so, I got that covered!
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.
