I am getting uneven tire wear and a slight vibration. Single axle boat trailer. Measured from bottom of hub to ground and 1 side is off by 1/4 inch. Anyone know of a trailer alignment/repair place that could bend the spindle back as appropriate? Or am I looking at a new axle?

How did you measure this, make sure the tires are aired up the same if you did it with them on and the ground is level, also I would think that is a pretty innacureate way to to it.

I agree, it is a lousy way to measure. Yes I did have the tires at the same pressure (checked and added a bit) when I measured, but the tires are worn from the issue and I/they could be off. So... I just now measured from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame and found that it is off by about 1/2 inch or so.

If the spring is weak on one side by 1/2 inch, will that cause excessive tire wear and vibration?

I dont know How to measure it, I would take it to a place like Stan said and let them look at it.

Our boat trailer used to wear tires really bad, we switched from a biased ply to a radial and problem is no more.

McGill Prop and Welding in Lewisville. They are a trailer/prop repair shop.
