The hybirds have been biting very good on 4in sassy shads from moestackleshop.com. I have been finding the fish in very shallow water. Wind blown points are very good places to look right now. If you are not familiar with cooper lake be VERY careful running the lake right now. There is several humps that are less than a foot deep on top. I cant stress enough be careful running on cooper.

Thanks Tony thumb is that close to the shore where the humps are about a foot deep? I usually run my trolling motor close to shore or tilt my motor up about enough to keep me going, Where is Pelican Point at? And thanks much, me and the Mrs probably would be interested on hiring you to learn the Lake and for a fishing trip for Crappie if you do that, Probably around this time next year or in middle April PM me and let me know how much you would charge forhalf a day, or day. Also I use a Bass Assain Trout colored and cast out and count down the depth and start reeling in and Ive had success like that! wink

Thanks Again
Robert

Does anybody have coordinates for these humps for those of us wanting to fish this lake for the first time? That way we could try to be careful.

I didnt mark any of these spots last time out. I did however set my GPS hotmap to shade anything under 12 feet. With the lake being almost 9 feet low, everything that showed up as shaded was less that 3 foot now.

Hope this helps.

Jeff

Theres been a lot of storms and rain passing over cooper the water may have risen some and maybe they will be a little deeper but still be careful around all points and shallows, also look out for partially submermerged stumps around coves and trees!

My mom got 4 and 2/10ths inches the last 2 days just a miles south of the lake. I drove over the dam yesterday and it didnt look to bad. I'm sure between the wind and run off this weekend it will be pretty muddy.

I'll let ya'll know tomorrow, cause I'm goin to be out there.

The Humps are out in the main lake in the Triangle of Terror between Dr. Ramp, Tira Ramp and the State Park.

I haven't been in a few weeks so i'm not sure anything has grown on top and is visible yet.

The best bet would be to use a Maps Chip and follow it closely.

I don't have the coords with me or i'd share them with everyone.

Also if the rain doesn't fall in the specific basin north and west, the lake doesn't catch any of it.

So it may have not risen or muddied a bit.

Lake only came up about 5 inches so yeah you still gotta use extreme caution, I was out their about 3 weeks ago on a trip with my dad cruising along about 25 mph talking and not paying attention and high centered on a shallow hump.Every trip since then I put both screens on gps and follow it closely.

The humps I am talking about are on the main lake. I do not have the gps # for them. Just watch your gps and keep your eyes open. I will try to get the gps # tomorrow and post them.

JUst got in. I finshed the morning with 19 from 805 till 11pm. Caught a [censored] load of sandies. I used up 4 Sassy shads from Moe's. Ripped to shreads. Maybe I can get a refund???? stir

Here are the stumps I found. They are about 6in under and as big as the hood on my truck. BE CAREFULL out there.
