I've always dreamed of seeing a double digit fish eat my bait on the surface. Just curious how many of ya'll have caught a 10+ on a topwater bait and what bait you caught her on?

Mine was 9'8 on a ribbit on fork a couple years ago I know its not 10 plus but pretty close and it was awesome best explosion yet for me

Although I did not land it I did have one on last year.....I am pretty sure of it. I was fishing a custom Wood Chopper look alike I had made and she crashed it in about 4' of water. All I could do was hang on as she came up and wallowed on top twice before she threw my bait back at me. I got a couple of really good looks at her and know she was a DD.

2 -10+ on Fork on back to back cast on split n image and still was not over the slot,miss 1/8 & 3/16 heartbreaker but part of the game

About 22 years ago, at Lake Bacubirito (Bacarac) in Mexico, I hooked a LMB that weighed a little over 11 lbs. I was throwing a custom Lunker Lure buzzbait (black/blue skirt). It inhaled the bait without fanfare. I got the impression it was a small fish,.....until I started cranking.
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

The vast majority of large fish I have caught on topwaters just slurped the bait in without much splash at all. They just flex the gills and pull your bait down off the surface. Fishing surface baits in grass you get the commode flush when it's a good one. You dont feel their power until they turn away.

Not 10;but I had a 9-4 and a 9-9 on the same day at Amistad.That's when I decided I liked Vixens!

 Had a 12.55lb. bass while working a 9" Rainbow trout AC Plug on top!  She Slurped it Down!
