I like to take all the small and dead shad and cut them up and throw them overboard.

I know this is somewhat off topic, but since I'm in a kayak or on shore, what would be the best way for me to locate the hybrids to begin with? Or am I perhaps being too optimistic being powerboat-less?

Or am I perhaps being too optimistic being powerboat-less? Do you have electronics on your boat? If you do and lake Lewisville is close to you then there are some good humps close to Lake Park. If you go on the dam side of lake park there are several deep humps that are not far off the shore line and usually it is not overwhelming with a south wind.

If the fish moved , I would pull anchor and go looking. Mo
One thing I have noticed about hybrids is that they will circle through an area a few times. You'll catch a few, wait 5-15 minutes, catch a few more and repeat. I never leave a spot that is producing hybrids until they stop biting for an extended period of time.
