Hey guys,

I have been invited to a cabin on the landcut, South of Baffin. Everything is fine except the boat we use is in the shop and MAY or MAY NOT be ready in time. I'm looking for a backup plan. I need use of a boat that is in shape for a 30 mile boat ride to the cabin and back. We are experienced fisherman and know how to take care of equipment. The trip is Friday 6/25 to Sun. 6/27.

Any ideas? HELP. . .I don't want to miss this trip. . . I'm open to ideas, deals, offers, etc.

HELP PLEASE!

The only deal I can see anyone going for is, If the boat owner is invited. If anyone loans you a boat to go to Baffin, you might as well ask to borrow the truck and the house they live in while your at it! It might work!

You are probably right, however, I'm on the edge of desperation so I thought I'd try. I'll explore the boat owner invitation if I need to. I'll listen to anything at this point. Are you interested?

You might try www.captaincarl.com He might be agreeable to running you down to the cabin. Other than that, there are places in Port Aransas and Aransas Pass rent boats for the fisherman.Might try them out.

Sorry, I'll be in Port A. from the 19th - 27th. So that means I could take you but would not be able to bring you back. Otherwise I would love too. Sorry! -DELRUS-

I have no boat so can't help you.

But agree with others - your only option is to either rent a boat or offer a boat owner the trip to come along.

Unless he's a friend, I'd doubt any boat owner would loan you a boat for a trip like that. He'd be SOL if it ended up on the rocks in Baffin Bay.

Try little bay marine in Rockport.

They rent a Mowdy, a TwinVee Cat, and a few other boats. Speak with Doug if possible, but he is usually out of the office now (it's being run by one of his employees now).

THAT's the kind of info I needed!!! Thanks!!! I realize no one would lend me a boat. I was more or less looking for options and I at least have a place to start. Thanks for the input.

No prob. We've put many MANY hours on that Mowdy, great boat! Moves very quickly, good in a chop, and good people.

My only concern would be whether or not they will let it go for that long.

Stringer repair. Owner is over zealous I'd say. It just has/had a small soft spot and they convinced him he needed major stringer repair. They are in no big hurry either.
